Borosilicate glass PRP preparation tubes, CE class IIa

The Xenoderm range consists of vacuum tubes intended for the preparation of platelet-rich plasma (PRP) by centrifugation. All tubes contain a pre-dosed anticoagulant. They are available in two capacities, 10 ml and 15 ml, and in two configurations, with or without separator gel.

The tubes are made in Italy from borosilicate glass. They are supplied sterile and intended for single use.

All formats share the same outer diameter and the same cap. A facility can therefore list several versions of the range without changing its centrifugation equipment.

GPX1001: 10 ml tube with anticoagulant and separator gel

Tube length 105 mm, for a draw of up to 9 ml of blood. The separator gel, approximately 3 to 4 ml, forms a stable barrier between the plasma and the cellular elements after centrifugation.

Xenoderm 10 ml PRP tube with separator gel GPX1001

GPX1001/10: kit of 10 tubes, 10 ml, with anticoagulant and separator gel

The kit contains 10 GPX1001 tubes in a single package. The tubes are identical to those supplied in sets of 2: 10 ml, 105 mm long, draw of up to 9 ml of blood, pre-dosed anticoagulant and separator gel of approximately 3 to 4 ml.

This format is intended for departments that prepare PRP regularly with the same protocol. It reduces the number of order lines and simplifies stock management.

GPX1004: 10 ml tube with anticoagulant, without separator gel

Same format as the GPX1001 (105 mm, draw of up to 9 ml of blood), without separator gel. Intended for protocols that exclude a gel barrier: separation then relies solely on the centrifugation parameters and on the plasma collection technique.

GPX1201: 15 ml tube with anticoagulant and separator gel

Tube length 125 mm, for a draw of up to 12 ml of blood. It contains the same separator gel as the 10 ml format, approximately 3 to 4 ml. This format is intended for protocols that require a larger plasma volume than a 10 ml tube provides.

Centrifuge compatibility

Xenoderm tubes have a standard format: 15 mm diameter and 18 mm cap. They are compatible with most medical centrifuges fitted with 20 ml buckets. Both capacities fit the same buckets, only the tube length changes (105 mm or 125 mm).

Xenoderm tubes are compatible with the Hettich EBA 200 centrifuge, also distributed by Medfirst.

Certification and traceability

Each tube is a CE-marked class IIa medical device, compliant with the European requirements applicable to medical devices. The tubes are manufactured in Italy by Xenoderm.

Each tube label shows the manufacturer reference (REF) and the batch number (LOT), which ensure the traceability of the device.

Packaging

References GPX1001, GPX1004, GPX1201 and GPX1204 are supplied in sets of 2 tubes. The 10 ml tube with separator gel is also available as a kit of 10 tubes (GPX1001/10), suited to departmental supply.

Choosing the format

  • The choice between 10 ml and 15 ml depends on the plasma volume required by the protocol.
  • The choice with or without separator gel depends on the separation method used by the practitioner.
  • For routine use with separator gel, the GPX1001/10 kit of 10 tubes simplifies restocking.

Frequently asked questions

In tubes with separator gel (GPX1001, GPX1201), approximately 3 to 4 ml of gel forms a stable barrier between the plasma and the cellular elements after centrifugation. Tubes without gel (GPX1004, GPX1204) contain only the anticoagulant: separation relies on centrifugation and on the plasma collection technique.

The calibrated vacuum allows a draw of up to 9 ml of blood in a 10 ml tube, and up to 12 ml in a 15 ml tube.

The tubes have a 15 mm diameter and an 18 mm cap. They are compatible with most medical centrifuges fitted with 20 ml buckets, in the 10 ml format (105 mm) as well as the 15 ml format (125 mm). They are compatible in particular with the Hettich EBA 200 centrifuge distributed by Medfirst.
